Architecture
is not about power,
it’s about emotion

On November 22, at Seed – Perugia, Ma Yansong, one of the most visionary architects of our time, invites us to rethink the relationship between humans and nature. His research merges nature, technology, and spirituality into a poetic language that redefines the connection between humans and the city.

Architect, curator, and founder of MAD Architects, Yansong will be the new international guest editor of Domus for 2026. In 2025, he was named one of TIME magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World.”

The Guglielmo Giordano Foundation is promoting the event, curated by IN/ARCH – the National Institute of Architecture – in collaboration with Domus magazine.
Participation is free of charge, subject to seat availability.

Attendance at the event entitles architects to receive 2 Professional Training Credits (CFP), in accordance with current regulations.

We reimagine the built environment, creating spacesthat provoke thought, inspire creativity, and build deepconnections between peopleand their surroundings

Inspired by Nature,
driven by Innovation

How can we build a city that does not forget the mountain and the river from which it was born?
The answer is the Shanshui City – a vision of architecture that reconnects urban life with the landscape, and progress with poetry.

Architect Ma Yansong (Beijing, 1975) is one of the most prominent voices of the new generation of Chinese architects. The first from his country to design a landmark building abroad, he envisions the city of the future as a balance between humanity, environment, and technology, drawing inspiration from the Eastern affinity with nature.
In 2014, he won the competition for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in the United States, becoming the first Chinese architect to be commissioned for a major international cultural project. Among his most notable works are the Fenix Museum in Rotterdam, the Tunnel of Light in Japan, the Shenzhen Bay Cultural Park, the Quzhou Sports Park, and the Courtyard Kindergarten in China. Alongside his architectural practice, he explores the cultural values of architecture through exhibitions, publications, and artistic works. He is the curator of the China Pavilion at the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale (2025).
Recognized by publications such as ICON, Fast Company, TIME, and the World Economic Forum, he has received numerous international awards, including the RIBA International Fellowship (2010) and the title of Young Global Leader (2014).
